About Ninja SA
Ninja South Africa practices a modern fighting style based on traditional
Ninjutsu techniques & ideas
Today we use devastating techniques via any means to combat any situation that
may lead to a physical or mental confrontation. As times have changed the style
has too, for example we are not going to fight a Samurai with a katana, but
rather a mugger with a gun or knife. We teach the style through a carefully developed
method of teaching. You will progress through the nine steps of training to
achieve your first Dan black belt. In training with Ninja SA you will experience
various elements such as martial defensive techniques, body conditioning, mental
focus, reflex development, striking power development, tactical alertness,
survival awareness, weapons techniques and much more!
Ninja SA Study Groups
Ninja SA introduced its first study group early in 2009. The initial concept was a distance learning DVD package that was designed for individuals to learn the art in areas that we did not have a dojo. We found the interest was so great that it would be beneficial to connect our distance learning students and form an officially supported study group system. In doing this we found we could get more information and training material across to the study group leader who in turn shares it with the rest of the group as a result to this, we have the ability to send out senior Ninja SA instructors to the study groups for full weekend training and formal grading. This in turn develops better practitioners of the art. We are very proud of what our study groups have achieved and look forward to every visit we will make to them in the future. We currently have various groups all around South Africa and welcome those who are interested to visit them and join the classes. If you have any questions about this method of training please contact Sensei David Field on ninja@ninja.co.za
The nine steps of training
As you join Ninja SA the first three levels are basic training; these levels
form the fundamentals of this dynamic style. Following the first levels are the
honing stages, a more advanced tool box of combat techniques are attached to the
system. You will learn to combat a variety of situations using the flow of this
art. It is in no way a static art, so you will not be defending preset “acted”
attacks. This is a real martial system; unlike sport arts we simulate real life
as close as we can. Once the Ninjitsu practitioner has passed the empty hand
combat stage, weapons are added to the training. The weapon system fits directly
onto the empty hand system working as an extension of the body. When each weapon
is mastered you move onto the next weapon discipline. As this is an art you
never stop learning meaning that every training session you will acquire new
ideas and techniques irrespective on your years of experience or level. Ninjitsu
is a dynamic and powerful tool for self development, through training you will
find that you will handle the stress and strains of everyday life better and
develop internally and externally.
Ninja SA history
Ninja SA was established in 2006, by Sensei David Field and Daniel Alvares along with Sensei Nathan Lee. Ninja SA teach a highly developed art originally based on an old system. We don’t claim to teach authentic old style Ninjutsu. But we carry the old teachings and training techniques that have survived over the ages. The Ninja SA style is
have a comprehensive style and is always adapting as any good style should.
Within three months you will be a formidable fighter and capable of defending
your right to live. Ninja SA teach a dynamic hybrid Ninjitsu style; all of our
instructors have knowledge passed down from various masters of the arts, such as Barry Pictor and Ben Mangels. In addition we have had access to some texts and documented teachings of the old families which have added to our modern style. We have had many years training in external arts that have grown our body of knowledge. This style is very rare and should not be missed. We cater for the modern world and only teach techniques that have worked in real life situations. Tried, tested and approved in battle. Tests have been run over many years of body guarding and bouncing in the real world. We accept complete novices, intermediate and experienced martial artist into our dojo’s we do not discriminate!

rate to deal with any combative situation you may encounter. I hope that you will see the concepts behind what we are offering and give Ninja
