David Field's interest started early he was inspired by his Uncle at the age of three, Andrew Field is a Karate expert and a policeman. He continued to play with, and learn martial arts unofficially until he joined the Kyokushin Karate institute in 1989. He continued to the grade of junior brown belt in 1993.

 

David joined The South African Ninjitsu Federation in 1994, under the tutorship of Sensei Nathan Lee, he trained for the next 5 years achieving the Rank of Sensei 1st Dan. In 1999 recieved the student of the year award under the SANF. In this time he helped run the Linden dojo with Sensei Nathan Lee. In 2003 David graded to 2nd Dan under the SANF.

 

In 2002 he took over the Berario Dojo and graded 1 students to 1st Dan under the SANF

 

David also started training in Judo under Coen van Tonder 6th Dan in 1999, he has continued to train in judo up till 2009 but has never graded. He trains in Judo for the love of the sport.

 

David trained in Yawarakai Jujitsu from 1999 to 2002 under the instruction Greg Blatt where he achieved blue belt Sempai, before the school closed and moved to the UK.

 

In 2005, David moved to The Black Dragon Fighting Society, where he was promoted to the Rank of Sensei 3rd Dan, after a short time with them, he decided to leave the BDFS.

 

In January 2006 David started Ninja SA with the help of long time student Sensei Daniel Alvares and support by Sensei Nathan Lee and his current student base at the time. He has graded another student to 1st dan since the birth of Ninja SA.

 

In early 2009 David moved to the UK and has joined EGH judo and is planning to grade. He is also expanding the Ninja SA Ninjitsu style to Wales.

 

In addition to the above mentioned arts, he was involved in Mixed Martial Arts from 2003 and Kyusho Jitsu from 2006.

 

David is an expert in unarmed combat, weapons, ground fighting, joint locks and pressure points.

 

David was a bouncer in Johannesburg for 5 years from 1999, working in clubs and big events. He also body guarded certain VIP’s on a regular basis. He no longer works in this industry.

 

David has been featured in the SA Martial Arts Magazine. In 2006 and 2007 he has been featured on Super Sport Power Combat Zone and the SABC warriors matial arts show. In 2007 was a guest on 5FM, Gareth Cliff's morning show.
 

David has 20 years experience in martial arts. He has been actively involved in Ninjitsu for 15 years to the date of this CV in 2009.
